THE JAY STRONGWATER ICONS COLLECTION

THE ROCK BOX

In late 2022, Jay Strongwater launched the first generation of The Rock Box which has since grown into the Icons Collection which includes an expanded set of Rock Boxes, along with other bejeweled, high-end pieces of décor and accessories.

I was the lead graphic designer on the launch team for this product line with the final designs approved by the VP of design and CEO of Rauch Brands. I developed a suite of designs for social media, email, web, and physical catalogs for our team’s multi-channel marketing plan.

This was the first collaboration for the Jay Strongwater brand. It was a challenging task to find a middle-ground between Jay Strongwater’s classical luxury visual identity and that of the rock and roll brands we were partnering with: The Rolling Stones, Elton John, and The Beatles.

We developed a cross-channel digital marketing plan, along with a promotional catalog printed for wholesale. The designs were bolder and more modern than anything the brand had done before, using more vibrant colors than the muted pastels and delicate designs that Jay Strongwater had used previously. A risk, but one that paid off and helped these unique offerings stand out from the rest of the Jay Strongwater product line.

A year later in 2023, we expanded the ICONS collection creating the Candy Rock Box series in collaboration with Tootsie Roll, Peeps, Hershey’s, and PEZ. I acted as the primary photographer for this set and designed the editorial images used for the four candy boxes throughout this part of the campaign.

As we expanded the range of the product line, we refined our brand’s new aesthetic, shifting towards a cleaner, product centric design and included classic ads and designs we felt would take our older client base back to when they fell in love with our partner brands.
